Introducing the Northwest's all-new Youth Enduro Series affectionately acronymed YES! NW This is the first youth specific enduro mountain bike series in the Northwest where we'll have three races, one for each and every month of summer, with laser focus on our youth, the future of our sport:

-Youth specific races focused on supporting and developing youth in the sport of mountain biking

-Fun first, plus safety! YES! NW courses may not be as technical and demanding as a CDC course, but they will provide  steady, measured progression that allows for building skills, confidence and growth in the sport

-Kids on bikes, in the woods, with other kids who also love biking, alongside their families and the Race Cascadia crew, having fun, outdoors, learning and enjoying the sport of mountain biking, all together. Enduro, by its very nature, is a social event!

-Inclusive for all levels, from beginners just being introduced to enduro racing, to our more advanced and competitive youth racers

FAQ's

Youth Enduro Series Northwest, or YES! NW, but definitely YES, please tell me more!

The Youth Enduro Series, or YES! NW was born out of our desire to provide youth specific enduro mountain bike races in the Pacific NW. The youth are the fastest growing category in our signature race series, the Cascadia Dirt Cup, and as the future of our sport, the youth deserve as much focus and attention as we can give them to support their love of mountain biking.

How hard/easy will the courses be?

The courses are designed to be inclusive for all skill levels from entry level beginner to our more experienced youth riders and racers. Think of it as a bridge to the CDC. The priority will be on safety, skill building and progression. Courses will primarily be on blue trails. Mileage, elevation gain, and technical features will be scaled back from a typical CDC race, but fun with friends, on bikes and in the wood for the weekend will be on and happening in full force.

What’s the difference between the Full Course and the Lite Course.

The difference between the courses is the number of stages, elevation gain and mileage. The full youth course will be approximately 3-4 stages with a max of 2700ft of elevation gain over 15 miles.  The Lite Course will be approximately 1-2 stages with a max elevation gain of 1000ft over 7 miles. The cool part for all, is there will be something for everyone!

What are the age ranges?

Preschool to High School! Seriously, there will be something for everyone. If a youth can ride on two wheels, we’ll have a place for him to join in the fun.

What is the difference between the YES! NW and the CDC?

The CDC is for our more experienced youth racers, with longer and more technical courses than the YES! NW courses. YES! NW is being created with inclusion for all levels at the heart, especially for entry level youth mountain bikers interested in exploring the enduro mountain bike race format. Racing will be a part of the formula, but the focus at YES! NW will lean heavy toward building skills, confidence and experience, alongside camaraderie, sportsmanship and a love for mountain biking.

If I race the CDC can I race the YES! NW?

Absolutely!  We have an “Open Expert” category for experienced racers who are looking for another opportunity to race. Just don’t expect a CDC level course.

Can I ride with my child.

Yes!  In fact, with some age ranges it is required.

Will there be on course support.

Yes. There will be on course mechanical and food/water support, subject to change based on current Covid protocols in place at time of race.
